What Property Of Magnets Does The Maglev Train Utilize?

Maglev trains utilize the property of magnets that like poles repel and unlike poles attract.

Magnetic levitation trains leverage this principle, allowing the magnets to resist gravity, enabling the train to levitate completely off the track, hovering approximately 1 centimeter above it, creating a near-zero-height space flight.

A maglev train is a type of train propelled by magnetic levitation. It uses electromagnetic force to achieve contactless levitation and guidance between the train and the track, and then uses electromagnetic force generated by a linear motor to pull the train.

Because the magnetic force of the track levitates it in the air, friction is reduced. Unlike other trains that need to contact the ground, it only experiences air resistance. High-speed maglev trains can reach speeds of over 400 kilometers per hour, while medium- and low-speed maglev trains are mostly between 100 and 200 kilometers per hour.

Magnetic levitation trains mainly consist of three parts: a levitation system, a propulsion system, and a guidance system. Although propulsion systems unrelated to magnetism can be used, in most current designs, all three functions are accomplished by magnetic forces.
